The 2005.5/2006 and 2007 both appear to have average repair rates, maybe a bit better than average, which is an improvement over the B6.

Will they continue to do well as they age? Can't say yet, but this survey will closely track the cars, with updates every three months.

The latest results of the Vehicle Reliability Survey, based on owner experiences through the end of September 2008, have been released.

B7 A4 reliability, in terms of successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year:

2005.5-6: 70, about average

2007: 39, better than avearge

2008: 39, better than average

Descriptions of all reported repairs have been posted to the site, for those interested in that level of detail.

Additional participants would enable more precise results for all years.

Audi reliability research

 

The latest Car Reliability Survey results were recently posted. The reported number of repair trips per 100 cars per year for the Audi B7 A4:

2005.5-2006: 56, about average

2007: 40, better than average

2008: 34, better thana average

So, quite good so far, and much better than many people expect from an Audi.

A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May, August, and November. Additional participants would certainly be helpful, especially if we start splitting results by engine.
