B7 Underbody Panels - replacement cost?
imo, pass on this car, if the dealer won't fix problems with the car then walk away from him, if he doesn;t want the sale then thats that, plus this post is reletivily old and its still there? yeah some "here today gone tomorrow" bullshit if you ask me
walk away buddy save yourself the hassle of dealing with the d-bag service dept, and thieving salesmen
you'll find your audi just you wait

The underbody panels are one thing, but mis matched tires too!? Man, I hope the next guy who looks at the car picks up on it. Otherwise, the awd system could be shot fairly quickly if driving on the mismatches.
As a follow up and conclusion to the underbody fiasco, I obviously passed on the loser B7 with the quick-tie strap job underbpdy panels and its mis-matched tires. I never even went back to discuss it again as it was obvious they were simply trying to put lipstick on a pig and failed miserbaly.
TODAY I went and looked at a higher mileage A4Q 6mt (2005.5 B7 with 40,000 miles) and test drove it. Perfect in nearly every way aside from a few very small nicks that youd have to stick your nose up to in order to see. The engine was flawless and it had everything on it except sports suspension (easily rectified) and, drum roll.....all the tires matched, spare too, and the underbody panels were perfectly stock with no marks. The best part? $20k out the door...out-the-door. They were sitting on the car for several months and it wouldn't move due to the manual trans. They still made a little on it, but I made out quite well indeed!
So, maybe I'll drive by the quick-tie dealer sometime later in the week...but only to get a closer look at the new A5, RS4 and S8 cars they have on the floor.
