B7 Upgrade Suggestions
Hey Guys,
I have a lengthy and multi-part question to ask. I have a 06 Audi A4 2.0T quatttro with 121,000 miles on it (all highway, I drive a lot). Right now I have a REVO stage 1, Forge DV and a custom ram intake. I was looking to add exhaust and a test downpipe this spring.
My exhaust question is which one is going to give me the best sound (throaty) and performance boost (Stasis, AWE, etc, )and is it better to go with a 2.5” or 3.0”? I’m nervous about going to a 3” exhaust as it may not properly build backpressure and kill my boost. (My boost pressure dropped a bit when I put in the intake, but gain a little response). http://exaltmotorsports.com/i-156259...ck-system.html
Second, is it a smart to buy a downpipe off ebay rather than buying a name brand? (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...38934910955630). And is it a good idea to install it along with the exhaust ?
Also, after that is all done I was going to get it tuned. Would you guys recommend going to a shop and getting it mapped and tuned to account for the new setup or will the stage 1 REVO that I have in now adjust for the mods? Also, what would I gain with a REVO stage 2, and would I have to add anything else to support it?
One last question. I have been reading more about the cam follower and that people were replacing them at 20,000 miles…. Ahhhhhh I have 121k… am I effed, and should I replace it right away.
Side note: the Audi dealership swapped out my coil packs during a routine oil change this week… free.
Thanks for the suggestions and help that follows.
