Well it all depends. The 2.0T is a great engine (stock or tuned) I purchased mine new in Jul '07. It has the 6 speed manual. I would have liked to have gotten the DSG but it is not available for A4's. If its tuning you want to do go for the 2.0t or any of the diesels (2.0,2.7 or 3.0tdi) If you do not want to tune or chip and need more than 200hp the 3.2 is an excellent engine as well. I would only go with a tiptronic in the V6 or V8's. The best transmission for the 4 cyls is the 6sp manual (according to German testers) Have you checked the S4 (4.2 V8 344hp) or the RS4 (4.2 420hp) models?

Anyway good luck!

So Either one will be modified (chip and exhaust) I would for sure rather have the s4 but I'm looking for low mileage under $25K and the S4s in my area run $30k+ for higher mileage then I would prefer

A modified 6cyl is just tossing money away. You will be dissapointed for what you get. Modified go for the 2.0t. Trust me on this. I borrowed a buddies VR6 6 speed and could not believe how much slower it was to my tuned 2.0t. Night and day.

3.2 S-Line Titanium package will most likely be out of the price range and/or miles you have told us. Ti is pretty rare and demands a premium.

The 3.2 didnt sell as well as the 2.0t and the fact that its manual makes it even rarer. Now factor in the already rare Titanium package and you have the rarest a4 on the plant LOL

there is no debate on stock vs stock the 3.2 is obviously the better car. But what about Chipped and exhaust on both, and nothing else? which is quicker??

There is no comparison as the HP and Tq on a 2.0t can be rediculous at stage 2 plus. Even just a stage 1 2.0t will smoke a 3.2. You don't buy a 3.2 for speed, you buy it for reliability and just stock fun driving.

See thats what I mean though. I see plenty of 2.0t Chipped vs 3.2 stock threads and agree that the 2.0T chipped will perform better. But what about 2.0t stage 2 (chip, exhaust and DP) vs 3.2 (chipped and exhaust) The weight would play a factor but the the chipped 3.2 has more torque Both are looking at 280HP at that point except the 3.2 getting into the power lower and holding it where the 2.0t gets the numbers once it gets into boost.

You will not produce even near those figures on a 3.2. Chips and exhaust will net hardly any horse at all on those cars. Maybe you could see 10hp total. Thats why you can't find a thread because nobody is wasting their money to mod that boat anchor.

Any lofty dreams you might think HP wise could come from over inflated hp numbers from dealers are lies. It would not be close. Spend your money and be the guinna pig and I will assure you will not be happy from a performance standpoint.
