Hi all, I've been reading the forum for months, writing for the first time. I got a set of HID fog lights from oemplus.com, and need to figure out what the best location for the ballasts is. Also how should I attach them, do I need harnesses, or should I use that double stick foam thing. I saw a video on youtube, where some guy put his in his bumper on the lowest part of it, but it was an A3, I don't know if it'll work on mine. I have an a4 b7 S-line... well I guess my car should appear below anyway. But isn't it dangerous to put it this low, in case it gets water? Thanks in advance.

 

I just used 3M double-sided tape to mount mine inside the bumper. It probably would be bad if they got soaked, but living in SoCal right now I'm not worried about it on my car.

 

Yeah, plenty to worry about in Chicago though. Especially scooping up snow. Did you remove the bumper and install it hidden inside somewhere, or did you just put it right behind the plastic grill piece? I don't want to have to remove the bumper and find out that there's no better place to put it.

 

I didn't take the bumper off. With the fog surround out, you can feel around inside for a flat spot.

 

shouldnt worry bout ur HID ballast getting soaked there water proof ( as long as u didnt buy the knock offs )
