Quote: OP, just to be certain.. did you check the shelf under the steering wheel for the manual? When I bought my car used I had to show the (Non-Audi) salesman where it was!
Grab a flashlight if necessary. The manual is probably there.

It sounds to me like you're manually running the "check" cycle by pressing the wrench button. This may very well display the results in a different color than the post-startup test others are talking about that displays "OK" in green.

I have a 2006, so my whole display is only red and yellow and none of this applies to me.

Thx for the tip guys, but manual ain't there (what a weird place to put it anyway)

No, I know the wrench does a scroll through, but I was pressing the "check" button and was worried that I saw oil & coolant in RED and the OK was in yellow - I now understand that I will never see it in green as I don't have the multi-color display (sigh...) and that it's normal for those to show up in red, as long as they disappear...so I feel better now - thank you all for putting a stop to my sweat !!

OK so my oil and coolant lights are on when I press check but when my car turns on it says ok?
I just changed the oil so I know that's not it. And it has coolant even though it's a little old so I'll possibly change it. Is it my sensors? I have an 06 a4
