Default changing fuel filter on 2008 a4?

im hoping someone can share some specific info with me. im trying to see if i need to/can change my fuel filter. im seeing stuff online that says some models dont have a user serviceable fuel filter, or you have to drop the gas tank. these appear to be foreign models so idk if it applies to me.

is there a user serviceable fuel filter for a 2008 A4 2.0T quattro USA gasoline model? if so, where is it located?

thanks

Pretty sure it is in the tank. You could do this yourself if you have the knowledge. Really doesn't sound to tough. Sounds like you do have to drop the tank though.

**** that noise. i just found out the hard way the my GFs car is a california emissons based pzev and does not have a fuel filter that i can change, even though there is another version of the same model with a user serviceable filter. so i had to return the filter and special tool. anyway, maybe ill just crawl under there and look around before i buy more ****. its not uber necessary, just wanted to be ahead of the game

Missing the old days when the filter was a little metal round piece in the fuel line. So easy to change! Yeah, dropping the tank freaks me out a bit. More worried I would break a fuel line than anything else.

Yea I don't think I have the tools or patience to try that. And a gravel driveway doesn't make a good workspace for that 😔.

On my old Ford probe, the filter was near the engine and I had remove a tire to get to it, that sucked but was doable

Mine isn't in the tank. It does help to have a lift to get to it, though. Must be a People's Republic of California thing.

Default It's poking outside of the undercarriage cowling.

Just in front of the rear passenger wheel well. I've never heard CA a4s any different?
