Check Engine Codes
Hi!
I've had my 2006 A4 for over a year now and have checked the site for small things but thankfully haven't had to post anything because I haven't had any problems... until now!
Have some check engine codes I was curious about, place I take my car has a reader but it doesn't say what the specific code is (is that a thing?).
P2181
P3138
P2008
P0648
I'm sure there might be a place these codes and issues are already posted but some in depth analysis would be great!!
Thanks ya'll!

The P2181 relates to the cooling system. I had that code, and it turned out to be the thermostat. The engine couldn't heat up, and the heater was pathetic.
The P0648 relates to the vehicle immobilizer.
The other two relate to the flaps in the intake that control airflow into the engine. One relates to an electrical malfunction with the flaps, and the other says they were in the wrong position if I understand it right.

If you haven't had it done and qualify, there's a "customer service action" from Audi that should cover that. They replace the PCV, intake manifold runner motors, low pressure fuel sensor, and maybe one or two other things along with it. Take it to a dealership--they'll tell you they will charge you to diagnose it, but if they end up finding that they need to do that free customer service action, they'll waive the diagnostic fee.
