I have an Audi A4 Cabriolet 2006 convertible. The check engine light came on and the error code from diagnostics run is PO 2181. Any ideas what that is and if so how much is it going to cost me to fix it? Thanks so much!!!!!

 

I think that pertains to a coolant temp sensor or your thermostat is sticking open too long, which ever I can't remember. The cost to fix I can't help with unfortunately. Try to find a reputable shop that works on german cars. They will likely be cheaper than going to the dealership. Or I suppose you could tackle the project yourself, but you'd need to pin point the exact problem.

 

If it's the coolant temp sensor, it's probably only a couple hundred bucks. It may be worth trying that first, but likely your thermostat is stuck open. The thermostat will run you between $400-500 at an independent shop that knows VW/Audi or $700-800 if you want to go to the dealership (at least that's what they quoted me).
