Class 2 Tow Hitch for Bikes on A4?
Hi - I realize that Audi does not support towing with A4 Avant. However, I simply want to hang bikes off the back of the Avant, rather than putting them on top.
Uhaul will put a Class 1 hitch on the back and this can hold two bikes or up to 200lbs of tongue weight.
Can someone here provide advice on going above this weight limit to possibly hold 3-4 bikes?
Total weight probably would not go much about 200lbs (rack included).
1) Is 200-250lbs too much weight for the back of a A4 Avant 2.0?
2) Has anyone put a class II (class 2) hitch on the back of an A4 wagon? I only see Class I (1.5" size) hitches.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I have experience with using a roof rack on my Saab 9-3. I got tired of the wind noise and thought behind the car might provide a better approach.
Thanks,
Peter

Dont worry about it. I am sure you have put more weight than that in the car. You will have no problems at all (except for opening the hatch, unless you get the swing out kind of rack). Your car can EASILY handle it.
