I received it yesterday. God, one more crappy thing to worry
about every 40K/2 years. Do you know how this would work
once out of warranty? Am at 38K right now.

It looks like if you paid for repairs, you can get some money from the settlement. I just don't know if that includes out of warrenty repairs. I had a 2000 Jetta GLX that my brother now owns, which is also included in the settlement. I never had any trouble with the Jetta, but then I never hardly ever had the sunroof open. My brother on the other hand opens it no matter how cold it is. I may have my A4 inspected, because one time during a period of rainy weather, I felt what seemed like damp moisture up by the sunroof, though I did not see any water.

yea i got my letter and from what i understand, the lawsuit was settled out of court and is still waiting for a judge to say that the agreement is fair and final. so, the settlement/remedy is that Audi will send out the notice that we received and include the inspection at the service intervals. however, anyone of us on here could just simply check the drains ourselves. i looked at the sunroof after reading the info and you can see the drains pretty easily. just open the sunroof, lean in the top and look back under the lip near the corner. there is one drain on each side. its about the size of a big pea so i can see how it would clog with debris but it should also be pretty easy to keep clean.

Almost 80k here and no issues. Drains look good to me. Must not be too common. Or people who park under tree's a lot get matter build up.

yea, when the sunroof is closed it should be pretty well sealed right? i think leaving it open all the time or having a bad gasket around the glass would be the first sign
