09 2.0T A4 - finally looking to get a code scanner - can anyone recommend a good one for the A4 (there are so many available).

 

any good generic code scanner will get you the basic OBDII compliant engine codes. If you want the recognized best thing you can get for your Audi you want a Ross-Tech vagcom cable, run to a laptop running VCDS. It is the closest you can get to the computer at the dealsership

 

^ Exactly...If you are going to spend the duckets then you might as well invest in the VAG com, the OBD is good but go big or go home, after I bought my audi I sold my scan tool and want to buy a VAG...
