Default coil pack recall help

Called my local dealer service department and gave them my VIN. She said there is no recall. I received no explanation other than "we can replace them for you if they fail while under warranty, or, you can pay us to have them replaced". Warranty is up in 9k. What gives???

I placed a similar call a month ago, they looked up my VIN while I was on the phone and said my car was not affected by the recall.

Your car might have been made after the latest coil pack recall, thus you have the newest version already installed.

For what it's worth, they have recalled the coil packs twice, as the first fix had problems as well.

Call another dealer just to be sure. If its a recall item then warranty does not matter as they will fix it anyway.

So whats the problem...? Recalls don't apply to any or all models.... They are all VIN specific.
