2006 2.0 Tfsi SE, manual transmission.

Having a problem, I just got the car,
looking for opinions.


When changing gears in a spirited fashion (during WOT acceleration through gears) the engine "bounces" around at engagement of next gear, performance suffers and eventually it settles and goes fine until next hard gear change.

Have been driving around gently since I got the car but decided to give it the beans today and much to my disappointment it HATES hard gear changes.

Had a few Audis, never had this issue before no matter how much I wringed the car's neck.

I suspect engine or transmission mounts.

Car is on 175k miles and probably original mounts.

Which would you say?
Engine, gearbox, snub.......or other problem entirely.

All opinions and experience of this issue are welcome.

Don't mind replacing them but only if necessary.
Any simple way to check them? Pry bar etc...
