Extended warranty???
Like most folks here think, it all depends on what level risk you are comfortable. If you do decide to get one, I highly recomend a Fidelity warrenty from an Audi dealership.
I can also attest to purchasing a Fidelity extended warrranty from dealership. For me it was from my loacl VW dealer for my then 2003 Passat W8. I got 4 yr/45K mile coverage (at the time the W8 had 39K miles when MF expired) for $2,400. 1.5 years later, I had cam adjusters go bad. Fidelity paid out $7,800 for the repair.
Now you want to know the kicker? I decied that for me an $8,000 engine repair after 62K dealer-maintained miles was enough, and I'd had it with the W8. So traded it in for my current car, 2008 A4. The kicker? Fidelity PAID ME $1,025 for the remaining equity in the extended warranty - had 2.5 years left.
So in the end I paid $1,400 for $8,000 worth of repairs. Go with Fidelity FROM an Audi dealer and get the top coverage.
