First post, and a question about the S-Line Sport Package.
Hello everyone, I've settled on getting an A4 for my next car and will be buying in the next month. Either an 08 or an 09, but most likely an 08.
Today I test drove a 08 A4 with the S-line Sport Package. The difference in the suspension was very apparent, I also loved the all black interior and paddle shifters. They are asking $26k and the car has 35k miles on it. I was hoping to stay under 30k miles, but it was really a blast to drive it.
My question: is that a fair price?
I can get a standard 08 A4 (quattro) with 20k miles for about the same.
Thank you in advance for you input.

week ago today i got a 08 A4 2.0T S-Line, 30,200 miles, so the same car you are talking about with 5k less miles for....$19,250....it was at a Toyota dealer, they got it as a trade in few weeks before from some old lady that had it on lease, she took real good care of it...i couldnt believe how nice it looked...if i guy had that thing for 2 years he would have tore it up.
this was in St.Louis...not sure how much location adds or reduces the price.

That 08 s priced near what a 09 (B8) model could be had for. Iff you are willing to spend that kind of money you would be happier in a 2009 (B8). They are super sweet. I hammered one in an Audi Event a couple years ago when they came out. Had a nice cone course set up and I was allowed to beat the crap out of the car. Audi Driving Experience it was called. Very superior to the B7 in every way.
If you want to save some cash look for another Sline or go with a non-Sline. You can still get sport suspention or add your own without S-line body package. I would pay no more than 20-22 for a LOW mileage B7.

Thanks for the input. I suspected it was high. I'm noticing that the best prices are at non-audi dealerships.
Regarding the B7 vs B8, maybe I'm crazy, but I greatly prefer the interior of the B7s.
The only reason I'd get the 09 is so I felt like I was in the latest platform, which is a valid reason I suppose.
If anybody finds and great deals on an S-Line I'd really appreciate them passing it along, no matter where they are.

I don't know if you can get an Audi as a CPO at a non Audi dealership. The CPO is worth it. As for the 09 B8, there were some modifications to the engine that make it more reliable and less expensive to maintain. No cam follower to fail, and a permanent timing chain instead of a belt that has to be replaced. Also the ballancers were reworked to make the 2.0t smoother in the B8. Also the Torsen was reworked so that under normal conditions more torque is sent to the rear, giving the car a better driving feel. But I agree with you on the styling. I prefer the interior styling of the B7.
Cheaper at non Audi Dealers because CPO warranty is not available. Only Audi can certify and some private sellers think they can transfer the CPO and you CAN NOT.
More at Audi if CPO is available and well worth extra dollars. Just don't pay too much as they will deal with you on older body styles.

Very Correct..... And almost all CPOs atleast from my dealer come with new brakes and tires all the way around, And i seriously doubt the outside shop does as well.
So your kinda getting what you paid for
