fuel and oil additives?
Hey whats up guys,
i was reading on another webpage that "apparently" engine oil additives help these audi burn NO OIL whatsoever? myth or truth? do oil additives void the warranty if damage was to occur?
and while we are on the topic of additives do you guys recommend a certain one??? for both fuel and oil ...
thanks in advance

there is only one product i use in my audi - it is powerup nnl690.
I was first introduced to this product and applied it to both nissans i had - dosing the power steer fluid, auto fluid, engine oil AND added tothe fuel. From experiencing how well it works, when i got my audi the very first thing done was oil filter change and dosing the oil and fuel with power up because the previous owner had not topped up the oil - having now done 9k since the first application of powerup on the same oil - and as expected, in the first 2- 4k i did have to top up half a liter but none more since.
perhaps enquire with your mechanic or distributor about powerup

Hi,
ok I did the 2nd oil change in my audi a4 today, after 9055km the attached pic is an oil dispersion test card done on the old oil. The old oil is a shell branded oil....replaced that today with a Total Rubia brand oil and of course added 3% powerup to the oil. What I should tell you is that the Total Rubia oil, whilst branded a diesel oil this model is SD or spark rated so can be used in petrol engines, and is a 15w40. the 15w is the winter temperature rating of the oil as im not in a extreme cold climate there was no need to go for a lower winter temp rating for now.
In previous vehicles, using ummm another brand of oil by 5k to 7k the oil would literally be as black as carbon and thin as water and on feel between fingers held no clear oil film property.
The oil I drained today still held a clear oil film to the touch. In the nissan I had before the audi, 13000km to 15000km between oil changes were the norm. Now im not advising anyone anything, just letting you know what I have experienced - to my mind powerup works without doubt.
what I should also tell you is that there is another product called nutcracker which contains a % of powerup, on the last 3 vehicles I have had, all high KM's (over 200k) on doing the first oil change we fed nutcracker into a vacuum line directly into the manifold to clear carbon in the upper cylinder.

hey lads
how are your Audi's
I got to tell you, i finally did an oil change after 17100km's on Total Rubia 7400TIR and 120mls Powerup in my 2.6v6 at about 260000km's and i am very very happy with the result.
Yes the particular model of Total oil is a diesel oil, 20-50, but SD (spark) rated. I found out it has additional additives to keep an engine clean. Over the last 25 years I have done many oil changes on many vehicles, nothing has come out either as clean or to the touch, still has the feel of a new oil, so I will keep to this combination for my audi, you do what you like this is what does work for me. Without any hesitation I will do another 15000 to 20000km to the next oil change with confidence. I did do another oil dispersion test and aftet 5 mins the test still ranked, according to the test sheet, between ok and change. When i can get to another oil friction testing machine i will test the old oil, for whta ive seen i would not have any concern replacing it at 20000km intervals using this combination, maybe the only exception would be the quality of filter. Due to how clean the old oil was im really surprised, its like only done 2500km in my older nissan using another brand oil.
To be clear on other oils without powerup after 6 to7000km's it had to be changed, was like water and to the touch no oily feel to it.
So there we go, my experience of the Total Rubia 7400TIR 20-50 Diesel (SD) rated oil with 120ml Powerup additive in it is a very positive one.
cheers
