Default going for a test drive -- my first Audi. What to look for?

Hello all!

I've got a testdrive in a 2007 A4 2.0T set up. What specific things should I look for when evaluating this car?

Thanks!

Marc

Didn't say if it was a quatro, so here is some important items:

1. Mileage. If it is approaching 100k (or sooner) has the timing belt been replaced? Costs is about $1k depending where you get it done.

2. Surging at about 45 to 55 mph when the car is cold. This could be the warning signs of a bad torgue converter. This is a known problem with the quatro. Not sure of costs to repair, but expect a lot. My car does it. Started about a year after I bought it. Been three years now and it hasn't gotten any worse.

3. Make sure all electronics work. Tracing an electric fault is a pain in the rear.

Audi's can be great cars if they were and are taken care of. Pay attention to the general condition of the car. If it look beat up then it probably wasn't cared for. Best of luck to you.
