Arrow Headlights and APR stage 1 upgrade

Ok,
I just bought a 2007 A4 2.0T and have a couple of questions. I am looking at the APR ECU upgrade stage 1. My wife drives this car half the time and really dont need the other stages. As I look at the website it does state there is no additional required hardware. It does say recommended hardware. Now, I am not looking to spend all kind of $$$ and do an exhaust so on and so forth. If I only do the stage 1 upgrade will that cause any problems on the long run if I dont upgrade anything else?

Also on the headlights, I am looking at the Sylvania ZXE are those any good? Does anyone have any experience with these? Or the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra? I think the Silverstar Ultra are brighter but still have that yellowish look. Am I wrong? I dont like the yellowish standard look. What else can be recommended.

Thanks

Nope. You need nothing. Your greatest gain is going to be going to stage 1 or 1+ (Unitronic). Recommended hardware tends to be a money grab.

As for the lights, I got nothing.

TC's right. You need nothing if you just want to go stage 1. I've been running APR stage 1 for a year now, with no additional hardware. I am gonna go to stage 2 soon, even though I've been saying this for a while. All you need for stage 2 is a $70 test pipe. Same one APR wants to sell you for over $200, but don't waste your money. The Ebay one is the same. it's a stainless steel pipe, it just can't be 3 times more expensive, when it's the same material. Either way you go, stage 1 or 2, APR software is amazing, you won't be disappointed.

ZXE bulbs are just a more "hid look", no yellow tint. great bulbs, get em off the internet way cheaper.
and sylvania is very reputable as a brand.
as for the brightness in comparison to the ultras, technically they may not b e as bright, but a whiter light is gonna be more clear.
ultimately id buy some project headlights and hid upgrade, well worth the money.
ddmtuning.com for hids, ebay for hadlights.

Thanks for the info on the APR upgrade!!
I am glad to hear that if I dont upgrade anything else there should be no issues with the car on the long run. I am excited to have the upgrade. I am going to schedule an appointment at a local shop here in CA that I obtain from APR website that they say they will install it. I cant wait to see the HP gain from it! Thanks both for the info.

Thanks budd! I went on and purchased the zxe based on the info from your post. I got 4 off of ebay, for the regular lights and the high beams. I am going to be getting the ones for the fog lights soon.
I hope they are easy to install.
