anyone used the tuners from ECS?
i looked at the wires in my trunk and i think they are for the sirius tuner (based on the pics from ECS) but there are only three plugs. the green one, and two 8-pin plugs. im confused cuz the pics on ecs show a red plug as well for both the xm and sirius tuners.

I haven't responded yet, because I really don't know the answer. I was just aware of the location of the factory wires, and the proper place to mount the unit.
Outside of that, I used a Pioneer XM unit, which matches up quite well with my Pioneer aftermarket headunit.

Help! Anyone!
I bought the sat radio at ECS, did the install (thanks so much for the install info), but my car won't recognize the sat tuner. When I select Sat under the Band Selection function, it tells me my "car is equiped for easy installation" and that is as far as it goes. Additionally, to plug in the 8 pin connector I had to remove a jumper plug that feeds the CD signal to the almp. According to the wire diagram, the sat radio is supposed to perform that task, but my CD player can't get a signal to the amp. My car is equiped with the Audi RNS/Symphony system. Do I need to have Audi access the CAN with a VAG scanner to activate this sat radio?

Your best bet would be to contact ECS and ask them how to make their unit work with your car. Being that you purchased their unit (and you should have serial numbers to prove it), they should offer free support.

Even though ECS listed the 8E0 035 593 Sirius Radio as compatable with B7's, it is only compatable up to MODEL year 2005. As far as I can tell after confering with the parts counter guy at the local Audi Dealer, the 2006 A4 calls for (are you ready?) 8E0 035 593 F. That unit currently sells for over $500.00, so I don't think I'll be doing that.
So now I need to contact ECS to see about returning the radio, and Sirius about cancelling the service.
