Unhappy HELP: Cheap Halogen projector used with HID

I bought these lights on ebay a while back and i'm pleased with the way they look during the daytime. They throw a very strange and dark beam pattern at night. The housing originally had an H7 halogen bulb, but because of the wrong information i received before i had them, i ordered an H1 HID kit. H7 HID bulbs are en route to replace them, do yall think this is the problem?

any help before thursday night would be great, i'm taking the bumper off and messing with them then.

PS:
I know that the ebay projectors aren't good quality, but i'm a college student and good projectors are well out of my price range.
Thanks.

idk a lot about projectors but is there any way you could change the position of the bulb or the reflective housing? kinda like on a maglite when you twist the top and the beam expands or shrinks. if you could find a way to change the position it would change the light pattern
