They are the same thing. The only difference is in the base molding of the two. The "H7" is designed for a standard halogen "H7" housing while a D2/1S (projector housing) or D2/1R (reflector housing) bulb is designed for an HID housing.

If you have the standard halogen headlights then you'll be looking for an H7 HID kit. If you already have bi-xenon headlights you'll want D2S (bi-xenon) HID replacements.

How do you remove the H7 bulb out of a standard halogen(non-projector) housing for the B7 model. It is so cramped that you can't get a finger in there. Does one have to remove the whole headlight assembly? Thx!

It is super cramped in there and they certainly didn't make these cars so normal size people can fit their hands in there. Mine took me almost 2 hours to complete.

Be careful with cheaper HID lights! I purchased a pair of D2S bulbs from www.hidoutlet.net also know as Midnight Sun HID Outlet and my experience with them was awful. Lights are such junk I couldn't believe it, you could see the glue coming out of the capsule, the color was off and the the driver side light burned out after 8 weeks. Whatever you do, do not buy from them!

I found a different company online and they actually give you the strait truth on HID lights, in fact you can either buy the cheap ones or the higher grade ones...I purchased a pair of Top Speed HID D2S Xenon bulbs from them and couldn't be happier. The color is dead on and the light is so crisp...even more so than the factory Sylvania D2S HID lights. Extremely happy with my D2S order from these guys.

Check them out: www.xenonliquidators.com - I think the link where you buy is this one:http://www.xenonliquidators.com/HID_Lights_D2S_D2R.html

Good luck with your install!
