Default HP needed. Any suggestions?

I have 2006 A4 2.0T. quattro 6 speed manual with Carbonio intake, blow off valve and magnaflow exhaust. Also short throw shifter, underdrive pulley and snub mount. I just got the stage 2 apr chip today but still dont feel satisfied with the results. I wonder if installing test pipe or highflow cat will make hell of a difference. My bro has 06 EVO 9 MR. He hasnt done any mods yet and it is still way faster than my A4. Any other suggestions for gaining some more hp and torgue? I was looking at high pressure fuel pumps but dont feel like spending 1000 bucks on that. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated! Thanks

I am pretty sure you need the high flow cat / test pipe before you can even go stage 2. APR's High flow pump and another re-flash to stage 2+ will make a big difference. They will rebuild your pump for around $600. Worth it.

Do not compare your car to an EVO as it will never come close. Sell it and buy an S4 if you want some real performance. The a4 is an underpowered slug and you need to realize that.

Aside from that spend a few grand on a turbo upgrade is your only other option.

I would advise the Fuel pump, Test pipe and stage 2+ flash. You will be alot happier but still slower than the EVO.

Also you are huting yourself with a Blow off valve. Our cars are meant to run a closed sytem iverter Valve. You are likely losing power with that BOV. The best thing to have is the OEM Revision "d" valve which is a piston design like the aftermarkets but do not require maintenance like the aftermarket ones do. Ecs had them for $80 and free shipping. Take my advice from both of my posts and you will have a totally new car.

+1, ditch the BOV, the 2.0T motor loses power like a **** when you put one of those on. Get an APR recirculation valve (R1 i believe) and see how much it changes. The 2.0T's weakness is the high pressure fuel pump, once thats upgraded you can get larger injectors and a larger turbo which should put you on the same playing field as the EVO. However, the EVO with light mods will destroy almost anything on the street. You need to tell us how much power you want, and we can tell you how much that costs. Then you can decide if thats feasable or not.

P.S. The carbino intake probably didn't give you any horsepower gain either.

I would suggest not trying to compare your car to your bro's EV09. It is going to be quicker then your A4 2.0t because it was built to be faster seeing that it has a larger turbo and will make more whp vs your stock turbo. Only chance you have being as quick is if you pull your stock turbo off and install a GT2871r or larger turbo. Well unless you feel like gutting your car of 1000 lbs.

Thank you guys for the info! I know the BOV isnt the best way to go but I just love the sound of it and it just makes me happy every time I release the gas. As far as the EVO, I think that with better shifting I actually have a chance to win. I was hoping to get my A4 to do 0-60 in about 5-5.5 seconds.

You will need to upgrade the turbo to get into the 5-5.5's for 0-60. Even at 200whp with my K03 I was just getting into the 6's and I know B6 guys with around 280whp that are just in the low 5's. My slow A4 hits that 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. lol

Also any suggestions for high flow cats? APR's testpipes are out of stock right now and I am not convinced that a testpipe is the way to go since I have to pass emissions soon

That woosh sound you love so much is hurting your prformsnce. You asked for advice on performance yet you just want that cool sound that hurts you. You are not making any sense. Forge makes a spacer that makes the woosh sound but still uses a Diverter Valve. Get that if you have to and go with the G valve. As far as test pipes go, EBAY is the way to go. I got my GTI DP there and it was awesome quality.

Put it on after you pass emmissions. Im sure you are not a stage 2 tune without the Test pipe or high flow cat. Get the fuel pump and get stage 2 +. Trust me.

I ordered the OEM Revision "d" valve from ecs that you mentioned. Next thing I will look into is the test pipe and then the fuel pump. Thanks a lot for your help!
