I need help removing cheap fake chrome
Hi everyone, I currently have an 07 a4, I love it but I'm not too fond of a few of the things the previous owners did. For example, they got those adhesive chrome pieces and put them on the pillar between the front and rear door, and they put another on the back corner of the back door window.
Anyway, I don't like them. I am afraid if I try to peel it off it will leave that sticky residue. I have considered doing a glossy plastidip (if they make that) over them so it looks more like stock, but i'm still not sure that's the best way to do this. Any thoughts or ideas?

Might try internet searching for the pieces to see if you can find the removal method. Most that stuff is held on with 3M tape. You can try dental floss (or piano wire) behind it to get it off. You can also use a heat gun (careful as that is plastic there). The easiest method might be to call local salvage yards and see if you can locate replacement pieces.
I have had good success with Goof Off although I have not used it on plastic parts.
