price seems high for a fmic....what makes it worth the cash?

 

Evolution Racewerks FMIC kits are top notch and pretty much a work of art. All the parts are polished twice during the process of building them and can be ordered in a Anodized Black at no extra charge. All of the welds are also grinded down to make the pipes look like 1 solid pipe. The end tanks angle in so they get smaller toward the inlet/outet and the inlet/outlet also curve back, this allows the fmic to fit and keeps the pipes behind the bumper so the stock grills can still be used.

The B5/B6 1.8t ER Competition kits sell at $1255 for just the basic kit.

 

any proven hp or torque gains?

 

I will have to ask Fred at ER about that and see if he has any data from testing.


Some of the B6 guys have tried using the B7 Stock DSMIC setup and compared that setup to a FMIC, there was a huge difference between the 2 with the FMIC have much lower IAT readings.


(added) just talked to Fred and the ones in the pictures are the prototypes so they haven't started doing any testing to get data yet.
