I have a 2007 A4 2.0T Avant.

When I installed my new K&N airfilter 33-2209, it appears to be about an inch short. K&N does not know why & my Audi dealer confirmed that the airbox was in front of the passenger's side of the car. They don't know much else.

Anyone heard of this issue and how to fix it?
Am I putting the filter in the right place?

Did you compare it to the OEM air filter you removed?

 

Yes, they are different by about an inch, K&N is shorter

 

Hmm, an inch shorter in one of the large dimensions, or in thickness? It should have the same length and width, but be a lot thinner. If not, it may be the wrong one.

 

It was the wrong filter. It fit in the other compartment in front of the driver's side. I ended up calling K&N about it. They gave great customer service.

Were you getting mixed up with the pollen filter?
