Default Rookie questions climate control/paddle shifters

Picked up my 2008 A4 the other day and trying to figure out some of the basics.

Is there a way to lock the two zones together? (If it makes a difference, I do not have nav)

ie, if i set the drivers side at 72, I want the passengers to be at 72 as well without having to manually do it....possible?

Also, if I am in "D" and begin to use the paddles, is there an easy way to get back to "automatic" without a) waiting a really long time without shifting or b)shifting to "S" and back to "D" manually? It seems to take about 20-30s of not using the paddles to default back to "automatic" and thats a really long time without shifting....

Hold the "Auto" button for couple of seconds.
Now the driver side controls will control both sides.
Adjusting the passenger side will go back to individual climate zone mode.
