Looking at a CPO B7...Opinions?
After doing some research in all of TX I paid $24000 tax incl for mine about 2 months ago (10 months remaining warranty). Came with 33,000mi and had the full option list for the 2.0T. Seemed like a deal for me since similar CPO's were in the mid $27's. In my research, I found that if you're looking to purchase additional warranty, do note this:
After 36,000mi, the cost of extended warranty increases by $1000-$1500 depending on if you're doing independent or audi warranty, so ensure that you have mileage lower than this to take advantage of purchasing the warranty (if you're into that kind of thing).
Good luck with finding that new star!

Well, I did end up making the 4 hour trip to go see the car. And I am glad to say I am the proud new owner of an 08 Audi 2.0T.
It worked out to $23k out the door, with rubber floor mats, an Audi sport jacket, and cam follower (new) thrown into the deal. As for the car...it has the usual very minor chips on the lower front bumper, but is overall in amazing condition. It still has 1 full year left on the factory warranty so it works out to a total of 3 years under warranty.
Overall, it had everything that I wanted in an Audi. Including the front grill without a license plate mount. After I purchased the car, and was on my way out, the dealer and I started talking about the used car market and he went on to say that Quattro's are a little harder to find where there is less snow, and only 2 out of 16 Audi's he sells are manual transmissions. I don't know if there is any weight to that, but it was interesting none the less.
I think I got it for a fair price, and am absolutely in love with the car. The 4 hour drive home was awesome to say the least. I managed to snap a couple of pictures during the ride home...and took even more photos the next day out on the local mountain roads.

Hmmm. I suppose the rock got smaller or the bottom dropped down quite a bit!
As I said to my daughter, dealers NEVER lose money and always have "wiggle room" built into every car they sell. So bottom line is never bottom line. Glad it was worth the drive.

I don't understand your posts/logic. First you sell your A4 because you are afraid of owning a car without a warranty. Then, you say he shouldn't pay, or you wouldn't pay more than $20k for an '08. No Audi dealer is going to sell you a used CPO '08, with 35k miles, pretty much fully equipped for that price. It's not realistic. Maybe later this year but not now. Actually, wholesale car prices were up 10% last month. Also remember CPO warranties on Audis sold after '08 are non transferrable.
