Default Looking at used 3.2 with 148k?

Hi guys- I'm new to the Audi world. I'm a former Volvo owner, who now drives a Saab, but wants an Audi..
After falling in love with, but not being able to afford an A6- I started looking at A4s.
Before I go and check the car out tomorrow, would any of you consider the mileage to be a big issue? I know that no used car is problem-free.. especially with that mileage. But the major things such as the automatic tranny, etc. normally good up until and past 150k? I'm sure someone has asked for buying advice before, but I can't find much right now. Anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance. Hope to make the switch soon!

I've not owned a 3.2, but from reading the forums, they seem to be prone to carbon build up. Not sure what it costs to have that cleaned out, but I would suggest you have a competent mechanic (preferably one familiar with Audis or German cars) check the car over and mention the carbon build up issue.

The 3.2 is not as tweakable, but I've heard it's silky smooth and powerful. Personally, I prefer the 2.0T for its gas mileage, the feel of the turbo when it kicks in, and it's quirky sound when it idles.

I am wary of any car that high in mileage, but it's not to say you can't get a good one if the price is right. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!
Yesterday when I went to look at it, it puffed a tiny bit blue smoke when I started it, salesman said it hadn't been started since they put it on the lot.. so that was a turnoff but it could be from sitting... Also, halfway through the test drive, the abs and traction lights came on, which he said he'd take care of.
They're asking $8,500 which I find fair. What do you guys think?

I just bought my wife a 3.2 with 81,500 miles for $9500. It is a 2006 with a clean carfax. We had it checked out by an import mechanic prior to buying and everything looks and runs great. I would think you can get a better price with that many miles.
