Default Low Boost Problems

So I had a check engine light come on code 299 or something saying Low Turbo Boost. Take it to Audi dealership the replace a bunch of parts in the turbo. Still has the engine light saying low boost. They say either its the Turbo itself or the Computer. Terrible service from Audi how can they charge me 700 and not fix a thing! any one else have this problem with your turbo? How did you fix it?

If you've taken it to the dealership then I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have already done this, but I got the P0299 code and all it was was the DV. The older ones (I have a 2006) used a diaphragm that can tear. Get a little tear in it and all your boost leaks. I replaced it with the newer "D" revision which is piston-driven and all my boost was back. $100 for the part. May not help you, but that's what fixed mine.

Wow what a scam from the dealer. I would get the "d" version DV as stated and possibly a PCV fix. Both of these should be standard practice to replace anyway before they fail. Read my stickey up top. My money is on the DV.

And, if that's the problem, I would seriously look for another dealership to take your car to. That one either doesn't know what they're doing or deliberately scamming you. My money's on deliberate scamming and that just makes me angry.
