Hey everyone, i just bought an 05 a4 2.0t quattro 6spd. Love the car just had a question about the trans.. When at a stand still when i attempt to shift into first there is a grinding sound, sounds kinda like the clutch grinding. however if i push the shift **** very gently it does not grind and if i shift to second then first it pops in with ease, no grinding..I was wondering does anyone else have same issue, is this common, and what could this mean? Any help is greatly appericiated!!!!

 

if u get the grinding sound take ur foot off the brake and let the car essentially ''roll'' into gear, the shift **** will slide in if the car rolls a little it has to do with what type of manual gearbox you have (hydrualic, linear,) and when i say roll the car should only move inches and it should happen....

you also notice it with reverse too
