Default Need tips for selling 2005.5 A4 2.0T

I have a 2005.5 A4 2.0T Quattro automatic (tiptronic?) s-line with leather seats, sun roof, power seats, 6 cd changer, medium blue color, 24,300 miles and I just replaced the tires last year. Never been in an accident, no dents, major scratches, etc. The only quirk it has right now is that the computer is reporting it about 30 degrees cooler than it is (tells me it is 50 degrees when it is 80). I plan to take it to the dealer soon to figure out what that is about.

I tried to look at Kelley blue book to get a general idea and it seems the recommended price is around $22k-$23k, would that be a fair price? Any other way to price it out?

Also, what would be the best way to sell it? Craigslist or other?

I'm not completely committed to selling it but I just want to know how much I could expect to get for it and what might be the best way to sell it.

you wont get close to that much for it...specially since ur trying to sell it private party. I bought a 2007 a4 2.0t with a little more miles on it for 20.5k. You need to look at the private party price on kbb.com that is a little more accurate...and anyway u can sell it, craigslist, ebay, autotrader, paper, do it all.

Thanks for the input. I was using the private party estimate but it could've also been generous

I'm going back and forth with the idea of selling it and I think I may just put it up for sale to see if I get any decent offers. I have to start test driving it's replacements though. (Plan to buy a practical car as our practical/road trip/camping car is starting to go but it'll be a year or two before it dies and then plan to get a TBD 'fun' car so should test out the 'fun' car ideas to make sure I won't regret getting rid of my a4)

Exactly. Despite the low miles (jeez, did you EVER drive it?), people are reluctant to buy a now 5 year-old car for $20k. I had a hard time justifying buying my 2006 quattro with 35k miles for what I paid (less than $20k, I will say) even though it was immaculate and had most options (Bose audio, XM, HomeLink, heated seats, auto-dimming mirrors).

Personally, I wouldn't sell the car unless you're having issues of some sort or absolutely had to for some reason. You have a really low mileage, B7 that should last you many more years!

I guess that is a pretty good point, although it looks like new it is 5 years old. I do drive it but my husband's car is our main car for trips and what not.

It's just hard to justify (to me) spending that much on a car that age no matter the condition. Oh, and the "did you drive it" comment wasn't meant to be unkind--I'm just amazed at the mileage. I thought I was doing well to find an '06 with only 35k on the clock (it was in-service late '05, so it's less than 8k miles per year).

You probably will have a tough time selling. I bought my base 06 2.0t quattro manual with premium package, sunroof, XM, homelink, 17 inch rims, and in radio changer, in June 09, for $20,300, and it was a CPO with 35,000 miles and new tires. No damage, just very light wear and tear. Unfortunately, the thing is, if anyone does their research, they will know better than to buy a used A4 without it being a CPO.
