New A4 owner, Q about wheels, suspension, gears and radio!
Ok, getting back on topic guys!
1) Thanks for the info on the wheels. I think I know what to look for now :-)
2) The suspsension is currently quite high, how much (approximately) would it cost to get it lowered. And I assume it would need new springs/coilovers?
3) If the cost of getting a taller 6th gear will cost so much then there is no point. The main reason to want this was to have better fuel economy on motorway driving. Currently it does about 32mpg (UK). No point in spending big bucks to save a few!
4) I think I was expecting too much from FM. The iTrip sounds find for slow going tracks, but put on some Slayer or Slipknot and it starts losing the quality fast - a friends official iTrip does the same on both his car and mine so I dont think it is poor FM reception on my cars part.

However, using uprated springs on OEM shocks is never recommended, because the springs & shocks are made to work with each other, if you go changing one, then that will put un-nessessary stress on the other, and it can end up killing the shocks prematurely. My mate had springs on his car for about a year with no problems, but after that moved over to a set of coilovers.
Coilovers can range from £650 - over £2,500!! However they will allow you to adjust ride height as and when you wish along with how stiff the dampening is, providing you get fully adjustable ones and not just height adjustable ones. If forking out for coilovers, a set of top mounts to go with them is usually a wise idea too, but the standard ones will fit, but on some cars (not sure on Audi's), the stiffer ride can cause the stock top mounts to crack.
Hope that helps.
