New to Audi, just got one! Looking for input.
I just bought my first Audi, a 2008 A4 Quattro Avant. I had a prepurchase done on it, and it needs a timing belt replacement, motor mounts, new brakes, and new tires, plus a bunch of odds and ends like new spark plugs, oil change, etc.
So, any suggestions on where to start? I'd like to do the work myself if possible, although I only have a little car experience.
I am located in Bozeman, Montana if anyone is in this area, or if anyone can recommend a good shop.
Thanks!
Tim

If you are approaching the 115k (2.0T) timing belt change mileage then that should be first. If that goes you could be looking at having to replace the engine. Tires and brakes, if bad, should also be replaced as it is safety issue. Front brakes are easy enough to change yourself. The rears take a little more work, but with an internet search you should be able to decide if you want to tackle them yourself.
For the timing belt find an independent garage that has worked on Audi's before. Should cost around $700 to $1000 to replace (make sure they change the water pump as well). Might even be able to get them to throw the oil and plugs in at that time as well.
