c-clamp wont just work. You have to squeeze and turn at the same time. Not just squeeze.

Default Audi A4 2004 55 K service+ rear Brake Pad + Rotor

Hello Folks,

I have Audi A4 204 1.8T.
The Seattle Audi dealer is charging me a total of 905 + Tax for following:

1) 55k Service : 350 + tax
2) Rear Brake Pad +Rotor: 475 + tax
3) Brake fluid flush : 80 + tax
Is it a rip off or a fair price ? comparing only between Audi dealerships and not independent mechanics or self service.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

Ask the B6 forum.

1. Depends on what is included in your service. I had bought the Audi Care Plan up through 65k of services including all oil changes and everything. Works out to the customers favor.
2. Way Expensive. I had cut a nice sized groove in my rear rotor from my pad getting too low but it was still straight and no vibration so I put on some $25 Advance Auto Parts Pads on my B6 and I was good to go. Why would you even need rotors especially on the rear?
3. I guess thats ok if you don't wanna fool with it.

I would take the job to an independant Euro Mechanic. There is usually one or more in all major cities who will just as good a job than the dealer. Get the brake tool and do the rears yourself.

So basically $350 for an oil change and stuff you can check yourself. I think i'd pass on that.
