Default P000A and rough idle/terrible driving

Been working on a 06 Audi A4 for about a year now. I have changed the cam chain, oil pump, oil housing/cooler gasket, and other miscellaneous things however I'm stuck at a problem I can't get rid of.

The car idles and runs like total crap. It's like the car is ready to stall at any given point and struggles to accelerate or even start.

A unfamiliar code I keep getting is

P000A
Intake “A” Camshaft Position Slow Response

I've done some googling and saw it could be a range of issues and I'm not sure where to start.

The engine also makes a terrible clunking noise.

Where should I even start?

A couple buddies and I took a trip down island to Victoria, BC to check out some local breweries, but upon starting the journey back my Ice Queen became sick. She wasn't flashing lights demanding I pull over, but she didn't feel as spunky as normal, barely being able to surpass 80km/h on the highway home.

My God, this is a super old post lol. I been got rid of that car. Problem was that was my first ever car I actually tore apart so I messed up a lot of things (loose cylinder head, cam hurdle was lose, loose crankshaft bolt, timing was off, low oil pressure,I can go on) to find out that the cat was also cut out by the previous owner.

The only remnant I have is the cylinder head as a reminder to not half *** repairs. Still appreciate the response.

Now when I look back I'm GENUINELY perplexed how that car ran
