Pink Fluid under front of car
2005 A4 3.0 Convertible. 105,000 miles
Hi
A
Yesterday l drove approx 8 miles round trip and when l parked in my garage and shut off the
engine l noticed a pink liquid coming from under the front of my car but stopped after a couple of minutes. It was watery with a pink tone. My guess is it is anti freeze. I popped the hood after waiting a couple of hours and noticed the coolant reservoir was almost empty.
I recently brought it to an Audi dealership that is 30 minutes at best away to change the oil.
Because l just moved to Ga. and this was my first visit they gave the car a once over and reported it was in excellent condition and was maintained properly. My guess is that something
Was not tightened enough but only a guess.
I plan on driving it approx 10 miles to a local shop or should l have it towed?
Thanks
Alan

Your assumption of it being coolant is correct. If it's at the front of the car most likely the thermostat housing cracked, your water pump is failing completely, or a coolant hose is leaking.
I would advise you of not driving your car 10 miles without coolant. It will certainly overheat and cause severe damage.

yup, thats coolant. my 2008 a4 has 'g12' type coolant that is pink. I cant tell ya where it may be leaking from but check with the local dealer, they may offer complimentary towing, but i assume its out of warranty so it might not be worth free towing to pay them for service.
