Question about smoke and service.
So the other day I decided to play around with the multitronic shifter. I floored it and was using the paddles and when the rpms got really high, I big cloud of white smoke shot out the tail pipes. It doesn't do it when driving normal and I don't smell any coolant. Obviously first thing that popped in my head was head gasket. But it will only do it when you floor it. Is this something I should be concerned about? Or is it normal? Mind you I'm new to a turbo car. So I'm still learning. Also I'm approaching 100,000 miles. Anything that should be looked at or replaced? Love this car. I want to keep it fully maintained. I don't want to bring it to a dealer and have them say, ya replace this replace that etc. I'd prefer for some input for things to check out.
Mine shoots some smoke if you do that. I'm at 151,000 miles. I wouldn't worry about it, and I wouldn't be extremely concerned about timing belt, I changed mine past 100,000 and it was still fine. Pulleys had a little play but not anything serious. I wouldn't waste money changing a belt at 75,000
If you have the 2.0 engine, you do understand what the term"zero tolerance motor"means right??
That's why I wouldn't wait.Just sayin'.
However,different strokes for different folks.
