Default Remote starter

I understand that the A4's have a sensitive electrical system and that not to many dealers/shops have installed remote starters. Is there anyone here that has had one installed and if so has it caused any problems. If it works well who is the manufacture of the kit. Just askin. Thanks

I would suggest any alarm/remote start by DEI (Viper, Python) and go to a reputable shop to have it installed, Best Buy, the Specialist, make sure they offer a warranty on their labor, and ask to see the installers MECP certification. Be prepared to spend Extra, and give up a spare key, as the remote start will need a bypass to allow the car to start without a key present.

You're nuts! I don't know if its worth it to do yourself, but the only downsides i've experienced are carrying another little key fob, and having to remind the techs to check it before I drive it home after work on the electrical. The benefits, on the other hand, are wonderful! Every morning I get into a cool car in the summer and a warm car in the winter; for me, that's well worth it. Not to mention, if I'm running into a store on a cold night and I don't want to turn my car off but I don't want to leave the key in the ignition and the car unlocked, I can hit a button and the car will stay on, even when I remove the key from the ignition. I even have the 3.2 so starting the car is as easy as flicking the key, it doesn't need to be held until it turns over, BUT, I still hardly EVER start the car using the key. Buttons are the future!
