Reoccuring engine light
I am the original owner of a 2005.5 A4, my first Audi. In the last eight months, my check engine light has come on three times. The first was a problem with the turbo, the second was a valve of some sort. I have an appointment but haven’t gotten the third incident inspected. Needless to say, I’m upset with the time and money I have spent in the shop this last year.
My question is, am I going to the wrong dealership for service or am I driving the wrong car? Is this common in A4’s after 50K miles? I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

Could it be this is a recurring issue with coils, a $65 part but sometimes needs replaced? If so it's something easily replaced by yourself...
Not sure if you're having issues with the turbo or valves... Just be sure to cool down the turbo before shutting the car off to prolong your turbo life.

Sounds like the issues I'm having too. I've had my A4 1.8T since December. Since then, it's seen the shop 4 times, RPM Sensor, Camshaft Positioning Sensor, Coils, and the dealer replaced the fuel pump that didn't need to be. Now it has a pulley or belt issue. I'm SERIOUSLY considering selling. I have always loved Audi's but this is getting ridiculous. Have your dealer check out the stuff above, it might help...
