Just a few days ago, I got in my A4 and noticed that when I went to shift the car that the RPM's raced more than usual. They have always bumped up a bit hung and then dropped, but it got much worse, now its much more difficult to not race the engine while shifting. Also the same day, I noticed that the cruise control died. Is there some type of clutch sensor, that controls the engine to prevent racing, and possibly tells the cruise to disconnect when the clutch peddle is pushed? It's odd that both started on the same day. Thankfully it's a CPO.

 

Got the car back, and yep, a bad clutch switch caused both the revving and dead cruise control.
