Hi:

I did the oil change on my A4 B7 less than 3 months ago following an online DIY guide, and everything worked smoothly until the service reminder came back a week or so, counting down to '200 miles or 310 days' at this point. I haven't even driven 3k miles yet, and I used Castrol Syntec 5w40 (VW 502 compliant) motor oil.

The only thing I can think that has changed between the last dealership oil change and mine is the instrument cluster, which the dealership changed because they thought it had problems.

Any ideas on what's going would be appreciated

 

Mine comes on too early, too. I don't know how it figures out when to show up.
