Default Sirius Radio Receiver question

Hi all,

I am looking to purchase a Sirius receiver for my 2008 A4, and I have found a few on Ebay. The factory part number for my receiver is 8E0-035-593-L, but I have seen a few under the part number 8E0-035-593-H. From what I have seen, the -H models are still single FAKRA connectors, but I was wondering if there were any other complications.

Will a 8E0-035-593-H receiver work correctly in a 2008 A4?

Thanks

As long as the connectors match it shouldn't be a problem. If you call your local Audi dealer they should be able to tell you the part number based on your vin #. The only other thing is once you install it there is a jumper that you have to move over one spot in order for the radio to recognize the receiver. The jumper is located behind the panel under the glove box on the passenger side.

Default Correct Sirius part #

I also have a newly purchased '08 A4 cab, and am looking for the Sirius adapter to enable satellite radio.. Dealer tells me correct part number is
8E0 035 593 N.. Of course, I find plenty of SIRIUS RECEIVERs on the internet used.. major part number is the same 8E0 035 593, but each seems to have a different suffix letter such as D (listed as Audi), L (listed as VW-Audi). Is there really any difference between the units that esentualy have the same part number (except for the suffix letter)?

For an '08, is 2006-2008 the same chassis (B7?)

TIA

TinMan.

Yes, there is. Some of the newer units can substitute into an older vehicle but the older units will not be recognized by a newer vehicle. Here is a list I got on one of these forums when I bought my 2007 A4 for my wife and wanted to add Sirius:

Audi - SAT RADIO receivers: North America only

8E0 035 593/8E0 057 593 Sirius without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system

8E0 035 593 A/8E0 057 593 A XM without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system

8E0 035 593 D/8E0 057 593 D Sirius for RNS-E and/or with tire pressure monitoring system, works with Concert/Symphony as well

8E0 035 593 E/8E0 057 593 E XM for RNS-E and/or with tire pressure monitoring system, works with Concert/Symphony as well

8E0 035 593 F/8E0 057 593 F Sirius, MY 2007

8E0 035 593 H/8E0 057 593 H Sirius, MY 2007.5, single FAKRA antenna connector, needs splitter to work in older cars

8E0 035 593 L/8E0 057 593 L Sirius, MY 2008, single FAKRA antenna connector, needs splitter to work in older cars

8E0 035 593 G XM, MY 2007

Audi switched to single FAKRA SAT connections beginning with the VIN shown below:

A3: WAU..8P..7A105278

A4: WAU..8E..7A126439

RS4: WAU..8E..7N904437

A4 Cabrio: WAU..8H..7K022076

S4 Cabrio: WAU..8H..7K900972

TT: TRU..8J..81000001

I don't remember where I found it but this should get you started.
