Hey guys,

so I left my 2006 audi a4 2.0(129xxx) automatic in my garage over the winter. I started it and attempted to drive it out but it wont move. It starts up shifts into gears on dashboard but wont move. tried all the gears with no luck. When i set it back to park it makes a grinding sound that stops after 2 seconds. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Thanks.

 

Maybe a bad trans control module? Grinding would be a concern even if for just a couple of seconds. Have you tried to shift the car into neutral with out the car running just to see if it will roll? I had an instance with another car (not Audi) that I left for the winter and one of the brake calipers froze up. I could tell the car was going into gear, just wouldn't move.
