Default Transfer Case Issues With Staggered Wheel Setup?

I am in the process of purchasing wheel for my 2006 Audi A4 2.0T I wanted to purchase the 19 x 8 for the front and 19 x 9.5 for the rear. A staggered setup. I was told that there would be transfer case issues. I cannot understand how this could happen. Has anyone experienced any issues with the staggered setup?

With the quattro system apparently it is important to have all the wheels the same diameter as well as same width. That said, I know a of couple people running staggered wheel sets and haven't had an issue. But it would likely give Audi an excuse to void your warranty if you did have issues related to the transfer case or drive system.

Width is not an issue. Tires must be the same height. Lets say you run the same size front and back, the wider wheel will make your tire slightly shorter.

You would need to find a tire calculator let will let you imput your wheel size and width to find the right sise tire. In theory you would run 235-35-19 in the front and a 245-35-19 in the rear to gain back some height. Your sizes can be different as this was just an example. Here is a great tire height chart. http://riverviewtire.com/Tireheightchart.html
