What NAV/BT system did you purchase and if you don't mind cost? I'm considering adding this to my vehicle.

My 06 is that way has the buttons but they dont do anything, The way I understood it was the car was opted with steering wheel controls so it got the 3 spoke steering wheel instead of the 4 but the mode button and the voice rec buttons dont have a function. Kinda makes me want to do something to make them work but oh well.

The buttons work with the TECH package, see earlier post.

I dont have the tech pacakge though either. Its kinda odd but I prefer the wheel that I have vs the 4 spoke one.

I agree and prefered the buttons then to not have them. plus it gave me the option to add the BT feature after

I just purchased a 2008 Audi A3 S-line as well and this issue bothers me. I was hoping the Mode button did something with holding a button somewhere like "reset" on the wiper lever but no luck. I too read the manual and having it switch between audio inputs would be great but only works if the BT attachment is available?

I hate when buttons that are shown don't do anything! I can get over the "hands free" talk button on the wheel but the "mode" button erks me.

Yes. Just search ebay for "Audi Bluetooth". I added it to my 06 A4 a couple months ago. Steering wheel controls it all. I push the "Speak" button and my radio mutes and the fan on the HVAC goes down a couple notches. You'll need access to a VAG-COM to get it all integrated but it's a very nice system.

Here's an example.
