Dealership Timing Belt Replacement
b7 forum readers....just sharing information...thanks to those who do share info on their b7's!!
Here is what i paid yesterday 27 DEC 13
She is serving me well at 104k and didnt want to wait till 115k.
6 hrs labor = 668
water pump 100
coolant 24.33
tooth belt 80.00
tensioner 130.32
roller 68.00
roller 88.10
TOTAL $1159.00
B7 followers my brakes have not been replace yet and have as stated above 104,000 miles on the vehicle. The rear brakes are in the yellow or getting close but the front pads are still green! I believe next 10k service will call for new rear pads.

dbdezne thanks for the comments i hope what we have helped someone. I know the audi dealerships should tell the customers what price a repair will run and prices may vary from location to location. Information sharing helps all on this site!
I had my timing belt replaced at 108,000 miles. it was about $1157. It was a convenient time to do it since the car was at the dealer getting catastrophic cam follower damage fixed. I figured since I was getting the entire top of the engine replaced (yep my damage was that bad), why not just get it done.

phosphateb, in general, the charges from your dealership seem fairly reasonable for a dealership--not a deal, but not a rip-off either. Mine here is always more on the high/rip-off side.
You have to remember, the head involves taking apart the top of the engine, and just sliding the belt off the cams. To replace the belt, the car has to be put in service mode which means the whole front has to be taken off to get to the belt, pulleys, guides, and water pump. There isn't much in common between the two services that can be overlapped.
