Default Very Slow Start

Hi All,
I just bought an 2008 A4 2.0 Quattro last week and going from 0-30 mph seems to take forever!!!! Its really cold in Chicago during this time of the year, would that effect it? Its a new car and I am trying to take it easy on the engine until the break-in period is over.
Its just so frustrating... cause when the stop light turns green I feel by the time the car gets going its already going to turn red again.
Is this normal?

Because this car has a relatively small engine combined with a decent sized turbo, you're going to feel some lag in the first half second or so until the turbo fully spools up. If you feel that the car is really hesitating more then it should be, you should bring it back to the dealer and have it checked out. Even tho there is some lag with this car, once that turbo kicks in, you should really feel it and the car should take off.

Car needs to warm up first. Whenever it is cold, it will compromise the performance. Try it again on a warm day, or after the car warms up. Normal.

Do you have a stick or manual? But you have to let the car warm up. Usually when you start the car it will idle at about 1400RPMs once it dies down to about 800 is when i drive it.

No its automatic. And I do let it warm up for like 20-30 minutes in the morning.

I read I think on this forum that the "idle warm up" isnt great for the engine cause the oil isnt circulating up to the valves... maybe? This car isnt great with cold starts. How are you trying to get it to 30. Have you just stepped on it yet?? Which would be bad anyway being that your still breaking it in... but how do you drive. Lead foot or grandma style?

If you really think there is something wrong with it and you don't want to bring it to the dealers / already did, why don't you at least take a video of your acceleration and post it up here. Its a lot easier seeing how much lag there is then trying to imagine it.
