Default weird "churp"noise

I have a 05.5 a4... no real problems.. and i take cautionary measures on all the wear n tear parts ther known for having trouble with. my question is every once in a while while the car is at idle i hear like,....... best i can describe is a slight churp..... def sounds like its comming from under the hood..... like it could be a belt or sumthing ......does it every once in a great while./..... i said it once to an audi tech who works on my car.... not a dearship..... he was gonna do the timming belt.soon cuz it has not been changed ... 90k.......so i dono if changing the belt. (which is comming up anyway) will solve or if it is something else...... ..... just looking for insight....... car runs great.......90k....cam follower....pvc.....valve cover..... thats it...i hope

I remember having heard the same exact thing when I first bought my car. I took it to the dealership and they were completely clueless about what it could be. After a week of having it at the dealership, they realized it was there was a problem with the water pump and changed it. I don't know if that's the same thing going on with your car. Hope it helps!

usually timing belts and water pumps get changed together since its kind of a "since im in there" type of part that has been know to fail. Atleast thats how it was on my a6 2.7t, and i'd imagine its the same on the 2.0t. So get them both changed, and i'd do it relatively soon, i know audi says 110k miles for timing belt but deff not a bad idea to do it a little sooner since if it fails...ur fuuckedd
