What does the "Red" T mean?
Well then maybe it does matter what year? This was the 2nd question I asked the salesman when I bought my 2005 A4, "why does this A4 have a silver T and my has a red T?"
the answer I got was:
the red T's stand for some sort of sports package. It can be anything, suspension being one, i can't really think of anything else.
btw 2wdblazer.. under your forum name it says you have a 2006 fwd 2.0?
This red T explantion is for the Quattro only.

When I purchased my car I was told by the salesman that the red T does not mean anything. It was just a model design change for the 2006 year. I have a 2006 CVT non-Quatro without the sport package and I have the red T.
I was wondering about that as well and asked some dealers here (Germany) as well as the U.S. Military sales folks. The answer was, the red T was for U.S. models from 2005-2006 before the S-Line was available. They had some sort of mod (suspension etc) added to their A4. Those who received the red T later (2006-2007) had sport suspension added but no Sline package. And of course if anyone has a red T for 2008 you already have the Sline body kit, but added the suspension. I was also told that Europe A4's (and A3's?) with the Red T meant the cars had the 220hp motor in them, but I am not too sure on that one.
I was thinking of adding the red T to mine when I first got it, (2007 2.0T) but now I like the classy look of just a silver T with the Dolphine Gray Met color.

Hahahaha, I agree!!

Good question! I do not know what suspension mod's (or others) may have been done as my A4 does not have the red T. The only (U.S.) models I have seen with the red T here had the suspension mod (maybe lowered?) and that is for the F-track and Quattro versions.
A friend of mine here has a 2005 2.0T Ftrack (Red) and when we sit side by side hers is a little lower looking. Other than that she has a lot less options than mine (not even leather seats!)
